Degree: BA in Elementary Education and Psychology
Location: Lake Ronkonkoma, NY
My name is Jenna Haskins and I am currently seeking a job as an Elementary School Teacher. My educational training from Dowling College has provided me with a solid foundation which will allow me to enter the teaching profession with the confidence and skills necessary to be an outstanding teacher. During my educational career, I engaged in several clubs/organizations such as Best Buddies and Special Olympics which have provided me with a better understanding of how to accommodate the needs of diverse learners within my classroom. My love for working with children goes beyond the classroom setting, as I have spent my summers working as a Group Leader at Brookhaven Country Day Camp. As a group leader, it has been my responsibility to ensure that each camper receives the proper care and that every camper has an unforgettable summer. Further, I have also sought out to achieve academic excellence. I am a member of, Kappa Delta Pi, Psi Chi and the Alpha Chi Honor Societies and have graduated Summa Cum Laude from Dowling College with a 3.940 GPA. I was also named Kappa Delta Pi's National Student Teacher of the Year for 2013. Find out more by reading the tab on Scholarships/Awards. I believe that my background in education and professional experiences will allow me to impact the lives of many students throughout my career as an educator. Along with my educational training, I enjoy the outdoors, spending time with my family and friends, traveling, and painting. |
